Doesn’t everyone want to stay fit? This is the first step to your health so I should think so, the problem is, we just don’t have the time, or simply don’t know how to! The plain truth is, it’s not that hard, but you’ll need a little bit of discipline. So let’s get to it, I’d say if you can get to the end of this blog with ease then you’ve passed phase one.
Now hold on, what does busy actually mean? I’m not exactly referring to those who are coming up with excuses and going to parties and waking up late and too tired to make gym a routine. I’m talking about those of you who are working full days or taking care of your husband and kids, shift workers, and CEO’s. Then again, we are here to assist everyone!
Here’s a couple of useful tips that will help you fit in some exercise in your busy schedule.
First comes first, Make. It. A. Habit.
Keeping fit and healthy plays a vital role in your general happiness, whether it be social, personal or professional. To fully enjoy every spectrum of your life, diet and exercise must be taken into consideration. It doesn’t just make you happy, but also keeps you productive and efficient. When you start your day with a good workout or even with something so small, such as drinking a warm cup of water with lemon juice, it’s a healthy kick start to the day that will get you feeling energized. Start simple, small steps at a time, once you get those habits in your daily routine, it will be much easier to follow up than you think. If you haven’t exercised in a while, start with a few simple ones, then you can move onto harder ones at a later stage.
Diet planning is always a good idea!
I was never a fan of the word diet, I like to think of it more as a lifestyle. The word diet can automatically come across as: you must lose weight and be skinny. However it should simply be a healthy way of eating that should be incorporated in your everyday lifestyle.
Usually busy individuals don’t have the luxury to plan their eating schedule in advance, therefore end up in the last minute eating decision, which most likely equals to unhealthy food. If you want to avoid this, planning is necessary. Having a good food stock is crucial, and nowadays online grocery shopping makes that easier for us. If meals are planned you are less likely to be eating foods that are weighing you down. Of course, I say this but you don’t need to by force be cooking in your kitchen, if that’s something you dislike you can always order a healthy option straight to your door. Just don’t forget that you need the right amount of nutrition, a few examples are spinach, salmon, pumpkin seeds, tomatoes and greens!
Exercise, Exercise, Exercise!
If you’re at the office all day and don’t have much time to do your daily workout session you might need to get creative. Let me share a couple of things with you that I found myself doing as well. Take advantage and walk to nearby places instead of using transportation, take the stairs instead of a lift, if your office space has a gym, use that on your lunch break, hop on the treadmill and set an example! There are so many other alternatives to exercising in your daily routine you just need to think out of the box.
Release your inner tension…
You want to know the worst thing of them all? That no matter how healthy and fit you are, it can destroy you? Yes, stress. We all get stressed, it’s inevitable, the important thing is to keep it under control and give the right amount of weight to certain situations. Busy work schedules, having to take care of multiple children, and supporting your family can increase your stress levels. The best way to deal with this is by ridding yourself from tension by meditating, yoga or even just having a laugh with your friends and family. According to research, laughing reduces stress levels in the body, making it a pretty good medicine!
In today’s world, we live an extremely fast-paced life, we are always busy and thinking about the next thing, hardly living the present moment. So let’s take a moment to breathe, cherish what we have, and most importantly to love ourselves.
